There have been three amazing concerts in my life that stand out and that I will never forget. 1) Metallica in Brisbane in 2004 2) Foo Fighters Festival at Milton Keynes bowl in 2011 and just recently 3) the Muse Concert at the 02 Stadium, October 27th.
It was sensational. The Music was huge, the lighting amazing and the pyramid screen rig – was altogether its own amazing alien feature in itself, with a life of its own.
Find attached some of the pics from the concert taken on my Samsung S3.
Saturday 2nd July
This was truly a spectacular event. The best rock concert I have ever been to. The full band was there with some special guests and complete with Dave Grohl’s larger than life personality. He was up the stage, down the stage and out into the audience runway. Smashing up his amazing guitar solos, giving the audience shit and general boisterous fun – you can tell he loves his day job.
Also along for the ride was Roger Taylor from Queen who played along to ‘Cold day in the sun’ while Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins sang lead vocals. A special visit from Bob Mould (Husker Du) and in the encore set Alice Cooper singing ‘School’s Out’ and ‘I’m Eighteen’
The entire 2.5 hour long show included:
‘Learn To Fly’
‘Cold Day In The Sun’ – Roger Taylor on drums
‘Long Road To Ruin’
‘Dear Rosemary’ – Bob Mould
‘Let It Die’
‘Best Of You’
‘Skin And Bones’
‘All My Life’
‘Times Like These’
‘Young Man Blues’
‘School’s Out’ – Alice Cooper
‘I’m Eighteen’ – Alice Cooper
‘Everlong’ – Set Closer with a fireworks show to finish it all off.
Their Gig was supported by Biffy Clyro, Death Cab For Cutie and Tame Impala.
Playing songs from the last 16 years of Foo Fighters musical history, this concert leaves no doubt in my mind that the Foo Fighters are at the top of their game. Even if you dont like Rock, you sure can appreciate their expertise, raw talent and unwavering enthusiasm to scream out their choons.
2.5 hours of screaming? Dave Grohl is super human….
