Two fabulous works that bring me to tears..

OK so I am pathetic, a bit of a softie, a musical wimp but if I cared I wouldn’t post it here for everyone to have a listen and make up their own mind…

There are two things musically that actually bring me to tears (just about) everytime I hear them. I think its because both instruments, when used so masterfully, go past ‘just playing notes’ and actually (no pun intended) SING…

Like a flutterby whispering from the top of Mt Everest until its creates an avalanche below with wave upon wave of ethereal musical prayer washing over me until it consumes and swallows me whole…

Have a listen and make up your own mind..

1) Nigel Kennedy’s live 2005 concert in France where he plays Vivaldi’s Concerto No.2 in G minor RV315 “Summer” (Adagio) 2nd Movement (With the Polish Chanber Orchestra)

2) Mozarts Aria ‘Queen of the night’ from  Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute) performed by German opera Singer Diana Damrau (and an Aria known for its difficulty)

I am lucky enough to see “The Magic Flute” live TONIGHT at the Coliseum here in London and although its in English (can sometimes be like watching a badly dubbed Asian film) I still cant wait…

Love in Music, Always
